Introducing The NFB of MT Newsletter

Welcome to the NFB of Montana Newsletter. We are just getting started with organizing the publication. What you can look forward to are quarterly newsletters showcasing news, events, and advocacy efforts from our statewide chapters: At Large, Great Falls, Helena, and Missoula. You may also receive occasional articles and events from chapters and members when applicable.

NFB of MT Insight Podcast:

A cartoon drawing of Jacob and Ed engaged in a conversation. They are seated at a table facing each other with a microphone on the table. The background is filled with a variety of speech bubbles and question marks, representing a lively discussion or exchange of ideas. The color scheme is a mix of blues, oranges, and blacks, with a retro feel to the overall design.

A few members of the state affiliate have recently establish a new form of communication/outreach for the NFB of Montana. Blending news, legislation, local news, and their quick-witted humor, Jacob and Ed just released the first episode of the “InSight Podcast”, you can find it on Amazon, Apple Podcast, and Spotify. Please give it a listen if you haven’t already.

For our next meeting, we will dive into “Country of the Blind: A Memoir at the End of Sight” by Andrew Leland, published in 2023. We look forward to exploring this title together and sharing our insights. If you have any questions or would like to join the meetings, please contact: Rik James or Jacob Krissovich.

Callout to the Local Chapters and members!

The newsletter is seeking contributions from local members, as well as the local NFB of Montana chapters. Yes, that means you: At Large, Great Falls, Helena, and Missoula. Please ensure you send your news, events, and topics to media@nfbofmt.org by the following dates:

  • Last week of May for the June 1st edition.
  • Last week of August for the September 1st edition.
  • Last week of November for the December 1st edition.

Note: The newsletter will be posted on the website and shared on social media sites. So please do not share information that you don’t want the entire world to know. This also does not mean that we need a novel about the happenings in your chapter, please limit the news to a paragraph or two.

If you have any ideas for the Newsletter or podcast, please send an email to media@nfbofmt.org.
