Support the National Federation of the Blind of Montana

Your generous donation to the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Montana makes a significant impact on the lives of blind individuals across our state. By contributing, you support a wide array of programs and initiatives designed to promote independence, enhance education, and foster a strong community for the blind. Here’s how your donation helps:

1. State-Wide Programs

The NFB of Montana offers a variety of programs that provide vital resources and support to blind individuals. These programs focus on skills training, advocacy, and peer support, empowering blind people to live the lives they want. From teaching daily living skills to offering technology training, our programs are designed to enhance independence and self-sufficiency.

NFB-NEWSLINE

NFB-NEWSLINE is a free service that provides access to hundreds of newspapers and magazines, as well as job listings and emergency weather alerts. This service ensures that blind and print-disabled individuals stay informed and connected to the world around them. Your donation helps us maintain and expand this critical service, making information accessible to all.

Belle Academy

The Belle Academy is a leadership and independence program for blind school-aged children. It teaches essential skills such as Braille, daily living activities, and other competencies that contribute to their educational success and independence. By fostering self-reliance and confidence from a young age, the Belle Academy prepares these children for a brighter future. Donations support the academy’s curriculum development and materials, for all participants.

2. Advocacy Efforts

Advocacy is at the heart of the NFB's mission. Donations enable us to have a strong presence at both state and national levels, where we work tirelessly to advance policies that benefit the blind community. This includes advocating for better educational opportunities, employment rights, and accessible public services.

Additionally, your support helps us send members to the National Seminar in Washington, D.C., where they meet with state representatives to discuss issues affecting the blind back home. Your support ensures that the voices of blind Montanans are heard and our rights are protected.

3. State Conventions

The NFB of Montana hosts annual state conventions that bring together blind individuals, their families, and supporters from across the state. These conventions provide opportunities for networking, learning, and sharing experiences. They also feature workshops, guest speakers, and exhibitions of the latest assistive technology. Donations help cover the costs of organizing these events, making them accessible to all who wish to attend.

4. Future Projects

Looking ahead, the NFB of Montana has several exciting projects in the pipeline. These include expanding our youth programs, developing new training resources, and increasing outreach to underserved communities. Your donations are crucial in turning these plans into reality, ensuring that we can continue to innovate and provide valuable services to the blind community.
